I literally just closed the book and I am bubbling over with excitement at how great it was.
At some points I felt like I was being dragged through the mud when Craig felt like he was in the lowest points of his life and I felt like I was on the highest point of a roller-coaster when he experienced his high’s.
I found that I could relate so well to Craig in so many different ways, especially with his social anxiety on top of the depression, I just never had wanted to take things as far as considering suicide.
Ned Vizzini, thank you.
Haven't read the book, but I've seen the movie. It's pretty good! You should check it out.
ReplyDeleteI love all of Ned Vizzini's books!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was pretty amazing. I read it in three days, but if I didn't have work then it would have gotten done sooner. I now want to read more of his books.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm going to borrow the movie from a friend soon and I can't wait to watch it :)
ReplyDeleteI had to Google this to learn about it. The book sounds fascinating. My most recent kick involves novels that follow a person's personal growth...bonus points if it's a tragicomedy. It's Kind Of A Funny Story sounds akin to The Perks of Being A Wallflower...and I looove Perks.

Well then Shane you will LOVE this book, I especially loved the last page, it ends the book nicely and it makes you want to be a better person. Also, don't finish the book at night on a weekday because then all of the feelings you get become wasted by going to bed.
DeleteI think you'll enjoy it :)
I just downloaded a sample of it to my Kindle. You have me convinced. It's only $7 on the store and I think that's more than reasonable. Speaking of which, weren't you looking for an e-reader or tablet?
DeleteSweet! Yes I was actually, I have a Kindle already but it doesn't have the ability to read in the dark and stuff and that's kind of what I want.
